Short : A significantly improved style/graphics module for dynamite
Author : Ieh-Meyl@web.de ("Batman")
Uploader: Ieh-Meyl@web.de
Type : game/data
Kurz : Ein deutlich verbesserter Grafiksatz für Dynamite
Replaces: The archive with 6.0
Requires: Dynamite and some working brain
Distribution: Anywhere, but always unchanged
Version: something like 6.1
history:
6.1: -Added the 6bit and 5bit files.
-Changed the names by use of an underscore. Dynamite does not understand
two dots in the style name.
This is one of the most tested and improved, or rather really the most tested and
improved style. So that's why I know it's really good.
The one and only thing it lacks is having some "cult" figures like Southpark, X-Men,
Rocko, Catdog or similar. But does that matter in comparison to what one gets in
exchange for those?
A general note on lag:
Sadly dynamite, for now, has a greater flaw in design-the overall gameplay depends on
the line quality and response time of each player.
For example, once there was one on the server with such a bad timing one had to either
blindly run or wait 3-14 Seconds for his bombs to explode.
It may be those laggers will be removed by the server in next versions.
With AGA I heavily recommend to use a separate screen for dynamite with reduced
width. Will suck a bit, but what the heck.
For toggling game and chat window use F10 andor the autoscreenfunction.
Please make sure that you are least lagged if possible, since your response time
affects everyone in the game.
Examples of what's inside:
1.Revamped extra icons
They have been changed for improvement x-times again and again.
2.The "B.U.F.O"/Bomb-U-F.O. (replaces the "kickbomb"):
The B.U.F.O is basically a black round bomb in shape. It has a surface reflection,
a blinking yellow warning light on top, a horizontal circle around it that holds
three rocketlike engines emitting blue flames, it hovers up and down. And it rotates
around itself- as best as this was possible to be cramped into four frames.
Don't forget the range can be altered by either standing still or running.
3.The Bombcopter/"Bopter" (replaces the "remote bomb"):
The Bopter has rotating top blades, rotating rear blades, some fume exhaust, a round bomb
shape with a reflection, it hovers up and down. Recently, after birth of the B.U.F.O,
I added blinking position lights-red, green and white, in order to make it catch up with
the neatness of the B.U.F.O. The Bopter of course has five views, i.e.
"left", "right", "front", "back" and "hold".
4.Solid figure colours
For the whole figure, except for the arms and legs being grey. Hands, shoes, body and
helmet wear the same colour. This imho is the best way of colouring the figures.
I also tried using opposing colours on the figures, like blue with red or orange.
Although this looked more detailed and colourful, it made recognisation worse,
so I scrapped that.
5.A 7bit-, 6bit- and 5bit-screen version.
6.Some replacement samples
Meant for matching some of the new icons, or replacing imho unappropiate standard
sounds.
The use of these is recommended, at least with my style. Besides, one can always
most easily create his own individual samplesets and preselect them from the game
menu.
Have fun.
